Medicare Open Enrollment (January 1 – March 31) allows people who are currently on a Medicare Advantage plan to make a one-time change. During this time, you can switch to a different Medicare Advantage plan or return to Original Medicare and add a prescription drug (Part D) plan.

This is often helpful if something has changed — for example, a prescription is no longer covered, a doctor or hospital is out of network, or your current plan no longer fits your medical needs.

In some cases, you may also qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, depending on your situation or state rules.
